Sahara Tours
Morocco hosts a variety of contrasting landscapes with the lush High Atlas mountains cascading down to the Sahara desert to the south. This vast terrain may appear barren, however it far from that with its rich bird and insect life. You may even see a sandfish, which is actually a desert skink.
There are the great sand dunes known as Ergs and the remains of ancient dried up river beds known as Oueds. Rocky outcrops and plateaus or ‘Hamada’, cover much of the Sahara making this a fascinating visual experience. The Ergs are amazing at sunrise and sunset, painted reds and golds by the sun making its path across the sky.
Take a magical voyage across the dunes on your own camel, the ship of the desert. Enjoy Berber hospitality at a camp with ‘Tea in the Sahara’, or maybe a tagine and definitely some musical entertainment. And you may even discover your value in terms of camels if you are lucky! Then spend the night under the incredible stars and Tizi Trekking will promise you will never see such a stellar spectacle!
